A Little Bit of Go Go Boot History
Go go boots in America are mostly associated with the 1960s, disco dancing, and the Whisky a -Go Go club. The origional Whisky a Go-go was opened in Chicago as early as 1958, but the style can be traced all the way back to Paris, France, where a Whiskey a Go-Go opened as early as 1947.
The Go Go boots are either generally a calf-high or knee-high boot that comes with a lower flat heel. They could come with a rounded or pointed toe, and most of them had side or rear zippers. Later in the 1970s, you saw some of the variations, such as the ones above, that included a lace-up model.
